Even discounting Skullclamp ($1.99) and Sol Ring (which is in every Commander 2017 deck but, as the most played card in Commander, is still worth $3.27, even with a ton of reprintings), the Vampire deck is overflowing with artifact value, with Door of Destinies being the single most valuable colorless card in in Commander 2017 at just under $6, along with Well of Lost Dreams and Blade of the Bloodchief, both coming in between $3 and $4

Coincidentally, it hasn't seen serious play since the Fourth Edition set, where it acted as Swords to Plowshares numbers five through eight
At eight mana each, they're massively overcosted now of course, especially because you have to pay mana each turn to keep them on the board
The only two drawbacks I can think of in this respect are the lowly 1 toughness compared to Wall making it easier to burn out the way (still offering a 2 for 1...) and that it costs two coloured mana and not one
