Dark Ritual allows you to take advantage of drawing multiple cards a turn back during the black summer of Magic , it wasn't unusual to see a player drawing 4-5 cards a turn every turn of the game using Necropotence to fuel their crazed game of "holy cow, is this for real?" No other card in Magic has allowed a player to draw so many cards turn after turn so cheaply
The other exception is known but rare these days: when my opponent has one specific haymaker I need to interact with, I might hold discard until just before they can cast it
Three cards might not be huge, but being able to pay five mana and draw a card is pretty good when your hand is empty later in the game
Great for TCGs like Lorcana, MTG, Pokmon, & Flesh and Blood

This uncommon landfall commander is perhaps not the most exciting card from the set, but the ability to fetch up any land at all is pretty nice
