Kalamkari hand painted and blocked coat or robe from Persia mid 19th century

With very fine hand embroidery we believe this was produced in Vietnam in the mid 19th century

Hand worked in cottons onto a fine muslin ground, it is a piece that we rescued from a slightly larger panel. There are stitch marks where we believe the whole panel was once quilted. An utterly lovely little textile from the era of Jane Austen. A perfect gift for someone special or to hang as part of a collection. Measurements: 13cm diameter x 2cm deep.
